Iceland
The Logistics Business have undertaken a number of projects for Iceland at their Deeside distribution centre.
The first was a study of the automated pick and sortation system installed in the 1980’s. Whilst it had provided good service to Iceland over the years, it had become increasingly unreliable in part due to not having used suitable wiring for the harsh -20C environment. Also, gradual reduction in product packaging strength was resulting in increased damages.
The outcome was that Iceland decided to remove the automation. Having done so they called The Logistics Business back in order to help with the relaying ofthe warehouse for a more conventional style of operation.
